Who Are We?
Director of Music Diane Caruso received her Bachelor of Music degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and her Master of Music Degree from Westminster Choir College. She has been the Director of Music for Trinity Church, Asbury Park, NJ since July 2005. At Trinity, Diane has expanded the music program substantially. She rebuilt the Adult Choir and founded the Trinity Choristers, an after-school outreach initiative, which provides homework help, free instrumental lessons, and mentoring for children from ages 5-17. Diane recently retired from the Board of Directors of the Royal School of Church Music of America and is a member of the Association of Anglican Musicians, where she was on the Executive Planning Committee for the 2012 Annual Conference in Philadelphia. She has guest lectured at Indiana University and Westminster Choir College, and has been featured on panel discussions for the American Guild of Organists and the Association of Anglican Musicians. She is excited to launch the new and evolving, more community based Choir School of Asbury Park starting in June, 2018.
Voice Teacher Karen Whitney is the Director of the Choristers of Salem Baptist Church in Jenkintown, PA. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Master of Library Science degree from Temple University. Ms. Whitney has presented recitals in voice and organ throughout the country, and was an assistant Chorus Master for a production of Porgy and Bess with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Bobby McFerrin.
